The Saudi Vision Cable is one of the recent subsea investments owned by stc and aims to provide access to all submarine cable stations across the Red Sea. The named Saudi Vision Cable is inspired by the “Saudi 2030 vision” as a game changer for the subsea cables in the region. This state-of-the-art submarine cable system will enable a unique and low latency route, linking the major subsea hubs in Red sea cities of Saudi Arabia.
The cable will help in improving the cost efficiency and flexibility of the unified efficient fiber optic platform and provide access - in a short time - to all international cables in the landing stations and information centers of stc Group. It spans 1,160,000 meters will provide smooth PoP to PoP communication up to 18 terabytes/ at a total of 16 pairs of optic fibers. This will also provide high-speed access across the KSA borders through four landing stations: Jeddah, Yanbu, Dibba and Haql. stc Group infrastructure will enable all of our partners to expand their global reach which will support accelerating and strengthen connectivity among the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, Europe, Asia, and Africa.
The new cable will be one of the submarine cables that will be linked to MENA Hub initiative connecting three continents of the globe; leveraging the strategic location of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. This will help to boost investments in international communication services and data centers and will allow our customers to enjoy numerous benefits, including cost effective unified optical platform to access all subsea cable landed with stc, and quick low latency access beyond Saudi Arabia’s borders.
The new cable will join the number of submarine cables in which the Group invests in which increased to 16 submarine cables with 9 landing stations connecting three continents of the globe in addition to digital submarine capacity control centers across 5 coastal cities in the Kingdom. Also, will support the inaugurated 10 data centers, and 6 data centers under construction across the Kingdom to ensure business sustainability through diversity and flexibility of assets that operate as a one-stop shop to improve its customer experience. These centers helped localize content and services through investments provided by the group to these multiple centers, which have a capacity and DC access of up to 125 MW to be raised to 300 MW according to the plan being developed by stc Group.
